Amilak Espaço de Artes, in partnership with LOOMA, is pleased to announce an open call for artists to take part in the group exhibition “My Imaginary”, taking place between March and April 2026 at its space in Marvila, Lisbon.

This collaboration places the exhibition within the LOOMA universe — a sensory and multidisciplinary artistic ecosystem that proposes an experience of art beyond visual contemplation. Here, the visual arts intersect with sound, the body, presence, and emotion, creating a space for encounter, sharing, and experience.

More than an exhibition, “My Imaginary” will be a living space — where seeing, hearing, and feeling happen simultaneously.

THE CONCEPT: SEE · HEAR · FEEL

​

Inspired by the LOOMA project, this exhibition proposes an expanded relationship with the artistic work:

• See, through the enjoyment of visual arts;

• Listen, through music and sound as active elements of the experience;

• Feel, through presence, performance, and human interaction.

Throughout the exhibition, the space will transform into a sensory environment, where art is experienced in an inclusive, relaxed, and intimate way.

THE THEME: “My Imaginary”

“My Imaginary” invites artists to explore and materialize their inner universe, creative identity, and personal territories of imagination.

Interpretation is completely free — figurative, abstract, symbolic, or conceptual.
The theme may be addressed explicitly or simply serve as an emotional and conceptual starting point.

EXHIBITION FORMAT

​

The exhibition will take place between March 21 and April 11, 2026, with four special dates:

• March 21 (Saturday)

• March 22 (Sunday)

• March 29 (Sunday)

• April 11 (Saturday)

These dates are conceived as LOOMA experiential moments.

​

On each of these days, there will be:

• A live DJ set

• A musical or artistic performance integrated into the exhibition space

Each moment will be unique, encouraging encounters between artists, audience, music, and performance.

Opening hours: 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
During weekdays, visits must be scheduled in advance, subject to space availability.

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

​

• Free submission;

• Open call to national and international artists;

• Each artist may submit two to four works, either new or previously created;

• Accepted media: painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, photography, and sculpture;

• Maximum dimensions per artwork: 100 × 100 cm.

EACH APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE

• High-resolution image of the artwork;

• Complete technical sheet (title, medium, dimensions, year, and sale price);

• Descriptive text of the artwork (up to 500 characters), contextualizing it within the artist’s imaginary (optional).

DEADLINES

• Application submission: until the end of February 2026

• Notification of selected artists: early March 2026

• Exhibition period: March–April 2026 (4 experiential moments)

SELECTION AND CURATORIAL PROCESS

​

Selection will be carried out by the curatorial teams of Amilak Espaço de Artes and LOOMA, in accordance with the project’s vision.

The following criteria will be considered:

• Originality and authenticity;

• Aesthetic and technical quality;

• The artwork’s ability to generate emotional and sensory dialogue.

Between 12 and 15 artists will be selected to take part in the group exhibition.

EXHIBITION CONDITIONS

​

Selected artists will be asked to pay a participation fee of €100.

This fee contributes to:

• Exhibition production and installation;

• Communication and promotion;

• Curatorial work and artist support;

• The creation of a carefully curated and professional artistic experience.

• ​

Participation includes:

• Exhibition of the artworks during the 4 LOOMA experiential moments;

• Digital promotion and visibility of the works;

• Support in sales.

• ​

The space retains a 20% commission on all sales.
Shipping and return costs of artworks are the responsibility of the artists.
